SUMMARY:Controversies of Innovation in Artificial Intelligence and Neurosurgery
DESCRIPTION:We are very excited to invite you to the next webinar hosted by the EANS Task Force for Emerging Technologies and Innovations in Neurosurgery (ETIN). \nWe are thrilled to present an outstanding panel of speakers who will contribute to addressing the topic: Controversies of Innovation in Artificial Intelligence and Neurosurgery. \nJames Giordano – a Professor of Neurology and Biochemistry; Chief of the Neuroethics Studies Program; and Co-director of the Program in Brain Science and Global Law and Policy at Georgetown University Medical Center\, Washington\, DC. He also serves as Senior Bioethicist of the Defense Medical Ethics Center\, and Jackson Foundation Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences/Walter Reed National Military Medical Center\, USA. He serves a Chair Emeritus of the Neuroethics Project of the IEEE Brain Initiative. Prof. Giordano is the author of over 350 publications\, 9 books\, and 50 governmental reports\, and is an elected member of the European Academy of Science and Arts\, and an Overseas Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine (UK). \nMario Ganau – a Neurosurgeon and Scientist with a wide breadth of knowledge regarding the application of innovation technology in clinical practice. Beside his PhD studies in Nanotechnology and Biomedical Engineering\, he deepened his understanding of the business environment with taught courses in Entrepreneurship\, Global Leadership and Organizational Strategy at London School of Economics\, UK and at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne\, Switzerland. Mario has also been Global Clinical Scholar at Harvard Medical School and Visiting Researcher at the Kennedy Institute of Ethics\, Georgetown University\, Washington DC. His clinical and academic practice is based at Oxford University Hospitals. He has been recently promoted to the role of Clinical Lead for Neurosurgery for the Southeast Region by NHS England and remains very active in various scientific societies including EANS\, AO Spine\, Eurospine and WFNS. \nThe discussion will be moderated by Nicolás Samprón and co-moderated by co-founders of the ETIN Task Force: Nikolay Gabrovsky\, Marcel Ivanov\, Florian Ringel\, Enrico Tessitore.\nWhen: 05 JULY\, 17:00 CEST\nRegister free of charge.
