SUMMARY:Expanded Endoscopic Endonasal Skull Base Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Over 1 day between 11:30 to 17:30 GMT\, the webinar will cover the full spectrum of expanded endoscopic endonasal approaches to the skull base. \nThere will be a focus on high yield surgical approaches and their relevance to specific disease processes including complex pituitary adenomas\, tuberculum sella meningiomas\, craniopharyngiomas\, skull base sarcomas (chordomas and chondrosarcomas) and petroclival meningiomas among others. \nIn addition to discussing the technical nuances for the high yield endoscopic endonasal approaches\, the course will feature multiple anatomy lectures and review of illustrative operative videos. Multiple lectures will be delivered by international skull base experts including from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center\, Pittsburgh\, USA; Stanford University\, Stanford\, USA; Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School\, Newark\, USA and the University Malaya Medical Centre\, Kuala Lumpur\, Malaysia. \nAn overview of contemporaneous open skull base approaches will be provided by the course organisers to allow the participants to work towards developing a comprehensive 360 degree view of the skull base.

SUMMARY:3rd Balkan Rhino Forum
DESCRIPTION:Dear friends and colleagues\, \nWe are delighted to announce the upcoming 3rd Balkan Rhino Forum\, which will be held on 7-9 April 2022. After a long year of pandemic – related restrictions\, we are looking forward to meeting in person again and welcoming you in the historic city of Athens\, Greece. \nOne of the most ancient cities in the world\, trying to find its pace in the 21st century\, Athens’ history mirrors in many ways the history of the Balkan peninsula: Multicultural\, vivid\, traditional yet modern\, it has a lot to offer. Modern art and ancient museums\, breathtaking scenery and monuments\, gastronomic excellence as well as world-class night life are but a few of the reasons to visit Athens. \nThe congress will be held in Wyndham Grand Hotel\, located a stone’s throw from the Parthenon\, the picturesque district of Plaka and the National Archaeological Museum\, next to a metro station\, conveniently connecting it to “El. Venizelos” National Airport. \nOur subspecialty is changing fast and as a scientific committee\, we are doing our best to reflect this in the scientific program as much as possible. Keynote Lectures on vital and controversial topics\, open discussions where experience meets evidence – based guidelines with a focus on residents and younger colleagues to whom the future belongs. We count on them not only for “participating” but also for designing the program and shaping the content\, under the guidance of senior\, experienced colleagues. \nIn times of uncertainty\, only one thing is certain: If we have learned something from the onset of Covid19\, it is that only through commitment\, collaboration and sharing we can overcome the difficulties that lay before us. And only if science becomes “a matter of many” it can be put at the service of humanity. That is the reason that we do not wish our congress to signal a return to the previous “normality” but a new\, more open and collaborative way to share knowledge and treat our patients. \nSee you in Athens! \nOn behalf of the Scientific Committee\, \nChristos Georgalas PhD\, MRCS(Ed)\, DLO\, FRCS (ORL-HNS)\, FEBORL-HNS(Hon) \nProfessor of Surgery – Head and Neck\, Medical School\, University of Nicosia\, \nVice President\, Hellenic Rhinology Society \nBoard Member and Lead\, Rhinology Working Group\, European Board Examination (ORL-HNS) \nDirector of Head and Neck and Endoscopic Sinus and Skull Base Surgery Department\, Hygeia Hospital\, Athens\, Greece \nCongress President\, BRF 2022 \n\nPreliminary Scientific Programme (PDF)

SUMMARY:Istanbul Spine Masters&ISMISS Turkey 2022
DESCRIPTION:It is our pleasure to announce the “Joint Meeting of Istanbul Spine Masters & ISMISS Turkey 2022” which will be held at the Koç University Hospital in Istanbul in February 24-26\, 2022. \nLike the previous four years\, this year the 13th ISMISS Turkey and 6th Istanbul Spine Masters meetings will be organized jointly. By combing the two meetings\, the organizing societies\, the Middle East Spine Society and the ISMISS (International Society for Minimal Intervention in Spinal Surgery) Turkey Chapter aim to reach a greater audience\, thus contribute to the spine education in our area more effectively. This year\, the meeting precedes the 1st World Congress of Motion Preserving Spine Stabilization\, which will be held at the same venue. Thus\, the attendees would be able to take advantage of participating two meetings using single logictics arrangement\, with a discounted price. \nTraditionally\, while ISMISS meetings include lectures and videos of the latest minimal invasive techniques and spinal endoscopy; the Istanbul Spine Masters meetings cover whole spectrum of spine surgery in an “advanced course” format and more interactive/didactic way. As always\, the topics covered are extremely relevant to daily practice. The meeting program is just “intense”\, and full of excellent lectures from prominent experts\, results of implementation of new procedures\, case discussions\, debate sessions\, live surgery\, video demonstrations\, and workshops from industry. \nWe look forward to seeing you in Istanbul in February 24-26\, 2022. \nProf. A. Fahir ÖZER\, MD\nCo-Chairman \nProf. Mehmet ZİLELİ\, MD\nCo-Chairman \nProf. Cumhur KILINÇER\, MD\, PhD\nCo-Chairman
