As a result of popular demand among participants of the EANS Microvascular course, the EANS Advanced Microvascular Hands-On Course, functioning like a Step II course, aims to enrich and diversify the palette of microvascular tools at the disposal of vascular neurosurgeons.

Tailored to residents in their last year, fellows in vascular neurosurgery and vascular neurosurgeons of all levels, the Advanced Course assumes a certain level of proficiency in microvascular suturing at a basic level.

The delegates will be introduced gradually to some of the most difficult exercises in the lab, all on live animals. These exercises, directly transferable to the OR, simulate and exemplify some of the most difficult situations encountered during suturing, such as but not limited to, suturing in a deep field, caliber mismatch, highly thrombogenic vessels.

At the end of this course participants will be equipped with all the necessary knowledge and a high level of experience to tackle the most difficult situations encountered in microvascular surgical practice.
